John and Kinnari have a collaborative philosophy that is most exemplified in their relationship with Kinnari’s two sons, Apoorva and Abhijeet Lakhia.

Apoorva Lakhia is a self taught international film maker who started his  career in New York City assisting directors such as Mira Nair and Ang Lee.

​

Apoorva made his directorial debut in 2003 with Mumbai se aaya mera dost, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Miss Universe, Lara Dutta.

​

The story boards for the film were done by Abhijeet Lakhia, Kinnari was the costume designer for Lara Dutta and John Panikar was the still Photographer. 

​

Apoorva Lakhia has since established himself as a veteran director in the Bombay film industry.

As an avid cricketer, he is on Sohail Khan's cricket team, the Mumbai Heroes, who play in the Celebrity Cricket League. 

​

Apoorva is involved in the project by bringing attention to the current renovation project and as a brand manager.
